Sony: A Letter Perfect Approach to Ultrabooks, Notebooks

How does Sony spell innovation and mobile productivity? If you are talking about its notebooks and ultra-portable devices, it's done with just a single letter.

The company's T13 is the first in its T Series of Ultrabooks, featuring a crisp 13.3-inch display, an Intel Core i5 dual-core processor and a magnesium and aluminum chassis that is designed to take the bumps and bruises of business travel or everyday consumer use. The base model weighs in at about 3.6 pounds and includes up to a 500GB hard drive, with higher-end models equipped with a 512GB solid state drive (SSD).

Unlike many Ultrabooks on the market, the T Series offers a variety of connection ports, including HDMI, and a memory card reader. Ready for the long haul? So is the slim and dependable T13 with a seven hour-plus battery that keeps you connected and productive long after other systems have checked out.

Sony's E Series and S Series VAIO notebooks take the venerable brand name to new heights and customer bases with stylish designs and new price points. The entry-level E Series systems feature 14 and 15.5-inch screen sizes and either Intel Pentium dual-core processors or more powerful Core i3 and i5 processors. The E series is available in three colors: pink, white, and black, with prices starting at $499.

Sony's S series notebooks are on the higher end of the scale and sport a more powerful 1080p display, extended battery life and a backlit keyboard with pricing that starts at $799.

Finally, the Z Series are the company's top-of-the-line notebooks with lightweight and durable carbon fiber construction, more power and performance, and an incredibly lighter weight (2.6 pounds) for notebooks in this class. Prices begin at $1,599.
