Apple MacBook Air (2011) Review

With the arrival of the highly-anticipated third-generation iPad, we thought we'd take another look at the Apple MacBook Air from last year. Our reviewer said that it's the "Best all-around notebook that you can buy. Period." Its highlights include the unbeatable and super thin design, the backlit keyboard, and its fast Thunderbolt port.

The MacBook Air comes in two form factors; a 13-inch model and an 11.6-inch model. And they put "Air" in the product name for a reason - your back won't hurt after carrying it around, no matter where you need to go. Even the 13-inch model is a testament to that; it weighs in under a mere three pounds.

We tested our review unit against all of the standard benchmarks that we use and found that it can perform as well - in terms of overall system performance, it scored substantially higher than HP's EliteBook 8460p, HP's line of do-it-all notebooks.
